🔧 Job Purpose

We are looking for skilled Erectors to join the Electrical Engineering Works team on a fixed-term contract. The successful candidates will be responsible for installing, erecting, and repairing OHTE equipment on railway lines during planned and unplanned construction work. This role is essential in ensuring that operations meet performance and safety objectives.

🎓 Qualifications & Experience

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

• Grade 12 with 3 years’ experience, OR
• Grade 10 with minimum 5 years’ proven experience in OHTE railway construction

Additional Requirements:

• C Green Certificate
• Working at Heights Certificate
• First Aid Level 1

🧠 Skills & Competencies

• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to identify tools and materials for OHTE components
• Understanding of method statements and safe working procedures
• Ability to interpret electrification layouts and drawings

🛠 Key Responsibilities

• Install and erect OHTE structures under the Supervisor’s guidance
• Assist in planning and preparing tools and materials required for tasks
• Read and interpret electrification layouts and drawings
• Ensure safe working clearance on electrification systems including:
  • 3Kv DC
  • 25Kv AC
  • 50Kv AC
  • 6.6Kv / 11Kv traction lines
• Operate and understand the use of hand tools, machines, compressors, and rail-mounted cranes
• Handle loading and offloading of tools and materials
• Monitor the condition of tools and measuring equipment
• Ensure occupation permits are signed before work begins
