Minimum Requirements

• Basic literacy and numeracy (reading, writing, and simple mathematics).
• Relevant experience in an Industrial Food Services Unit.
• Must be able to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Physically fit: ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
• Responsible for own transport to and from work.

Skills & Competencies

• Ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure.
• Knowledge of:
  • HACCP principles.
  • National guidelines on safe preparation, storage, and handling of powdered infant formula in health facilities and home environments.
  • Health and safety regulations.
  • Cleaning and maintenance of food service and milk kitchen equipment.
  • Hospital milk kitchen operations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute milk feeds to wards according to standardised recipes and operating procedures, ensuring correct temperature control.
• Receive, store, and manage stock for the food and milk kitchen, including record-keeping and statistics of feeds delivered.
• Prepare, dish up, and distribute both normal and special diets.
• Maintain hygiene and safety standards in the Food Service Unit and milk kitchen.
• Clean and maintain equipment, crockery, cutlery, and utensils, reporting any damaged items.
• Assist in the informal training of new staff members.
