About the Role
We’re looking for a skilled Forklift Driver to join our team in Serowe! If you’re safety-conscious, customer-focused, and physically fit, this is your opportunity to grow with a trusted and values-driven organization.
As a Forklift Driver, you’ll be responsible for safe and efficient forklift operation, assisting customers in-store, and ensuring top-quality merchandising and housekeeping in your area.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 or minimum 1 year of relevant work experience
- License: Valid forklift license (compulsory)
- Communication: Proficient in English and local language
- Math Skills: Able to perform basic calculations accurately
- Availability: Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
- Physical Requirements: Must be fit and able to operate a forklift safely
- Work Environment: Able to work well under pressure
Key Responsibilities
🛒 Customer Service
- Greet and assist customers courteously
- Offer correct product advice and support
- Respond to complaints professionally and promptly
- Load customer purchases safely and efficiently
- Promote add-on products and additional services (e.g. delivery, credit options, VIC program)
- Stay visible and helpful within your assigned aisle
🛍️ Merchandising & Housekeeping
- Stock shelves and bulk areas according to store layout and safety guidelines
- Ensure accurate shelf pricing and proper labeling
- Maintain clean, safe, and obstruction-free aisles
- Complete required daily checklists for canteen and toilet/showers areas
🏪 Store Readiness
- Adhere to “Ready for Business” standards and operational protocols
- Report any display issues, theft risks, or suspicious activity
⚠️ Safety & Compliance (OHSA)
- Never overload forklifts or shelving
- Use safety gear at all times (helmet, belt, etc.)
- Report any faults or service needs immediately
- Follow safety procedures rigorously – never lift personnel with the forklift
- Ensure forklift inspections and daily checklists are completed
