Job Overview

Provide excellent customer service in the store while ensuring proper merchandising, accurate shelf pricing, and maintaining a clean and safe work area.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 10/NQF Level 3 with at least 1 year of relevant work experience, or
  • Grade 12 with no prior related experience
  • Ability to communicate in English and the main local language of the area
  • Valid South African ID or work permit
  • Strong basic numeracy skills
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
  • Ability to work well under pressure

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Provide advice and assistance to customers regarding products and queries
  • Help resolve customer complaints efficiently

Merchandising

  • Ensure bulk stock is safely displayed according to the store layout
  • Fully merchandise your assigned area following planograms and store standards

Housekeeping

  • Maintain a clean and obstacle-free area
  • Ensure stock is merchandised promptly upon receipt
  • Ensure customers can move safely within your allocated aisle
  • Maintain correct shelf pricing
  • Complete required checklists for canteen and toilet/shower schedules

Safety (OHSA Compliance)

  • Follow all safety regulations and use appropriate safety gear
  • Ensure stock and racking are safe for customers and colleagues
  • Report safety issues or discrepancies to the Store Manager

Stock Loss Control

  • Report damaged stock in your area to the Store Manager
