Job Overview
Provide excellent customer service in the store while ensuring proper merchandising, accurate shelf pricing, and maintaining a clean and safe work area.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 10/NQF Level 3 with at least 1 year of relevant work experience, or
- Grade 12 with no prior related experience
- Ability to communicate in English and the main local language of the area
- Valid South African ID or work permit
- Strong basic numeracy skills
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
- Ability to work well under pressure
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Provide advice and assistance to customers regarding products and queries
- Help resolve customer complaints efficiently
Merchandising
- Ensure bulk stock is safely displayed according to the store layout
- Fully merchandise your assigned area following planograms and store standards
Housekeeping
- Maintain a clean and obstacle-free area
- Ensure stock is merchandised promptly upon receipt
- Ensure customers can move safely within your allocated aisle
- Maintain correct shelf pricing
- Complete required checklists for canteen and toilet/shower schedules
Safety (OHSA Compliance)
- Follow all safety regulations and use appropriate safety gear
- Ensure stock and racking are safe for customers and colleagues
- Report safety issues or discrepancies to the Store Manager
Stock Loss Control
- Report damaged stock in your area to the Store Manager
