Job Description
Cashbuild Limited is seeking a General Assistant to deliver excellent customer service in-store. The role includes stock merchandising, accurate shelf price labelling, and maintaining high housekeeping standards within the assigned area.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 10 or NQF Level 3 with at least one year of relevant work experience, or
• Grade 12 with no prior work experience
• Ability to communicate in English and the dominant local language
• Valid South African ID or a valid work permit
• Basic numeracy skills
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
• Ability to work effectively under pressure

Key Performance Areas

Customer Service

• Assist and advise customers on products and queries
• Handle and resolve customer complaints professionally

Merchandising

• Merchandise bulk stock safely in line with store layout plans
• Ensure assigned areas are fully stocked according to planograms

Housekeeping

• Maintain a clean, safe, and obstacle-free work area
• Merchandise stock promptly upon receipt
• Ensure correct shelf price labelling
• Complete required checklists, including canteen and ablution schedules

Health and Safety (OHSA Compliance)

• Adhere to all safety requirements, including the use of protective equipment
• Ensure racking and bulk stock are safely merchandised for customers and colleagues
• Report safety risks or discrepancies to the Store Manager

Stock Loss Control

• Report damaged or defective stock within the area of responsibility
