GENERAL ASSISTANT – BAKERY
Position: General Assistant
Location: Menlyn, Gauteng
Hours: 8 hours per day
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

About the Role

We are seeking a General Assistant to join our bakery team. This role is key to ensuring customers enjoy a positive shopping experience. You will assist with customer service, sales support, stock management, and maintaining a clean, organized environment. A friendly and approachable attitude is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist customers by providing accurate product information, guidance, and demonstrations.
• Address and resolve customer concerns to ensure satisfaction.
• Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide helpful service with a positive approach.
• Promote sales and highlight special offers.
• Handle transactions (cash, card, refunds, and exchanges) accurately.
• Receive and organize deliveries, monitor stock levels, and restock shelves promptly.
• Maintain neat, well-stocked displays and ensure product availability.
• Assist with stock counts and inventory checks.
• Properly dispose of waste from the store and storeroom.
• Maintain cleanliness in designated areas (storeroom, kitchen, etc.).
• Adhere to safety, security, and environmental procedures, including emergency protocols.

Requirements

• Matric certificate.
• Previous experience as a General Assistant, General Worker, or General Clerk.
• Reside within 25km of Menlyn.
• Clear criminal record.

Preferred Attributes

• South African candidates.
• Own transport.
• English proficiency.
• Female candidates aged 18–39.
