Job Overview

BCE FoodService Equipment is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented General Cleaner to ensure a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene across all departments and facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment through various cleaning duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning tasks in designated areas.
• Empty and clean waste bins and dispose of waste at designated collection points.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
• Spot clean and deep clean carpeted areas.
• Operate cleaning machinery such as floor scrubbers and polishers (after appropriate training).
• Dust, wipe, wash, and polish furniture, shelves, ledges, and other surfaces.
• Replenish consumable supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and paper towels as needed.
• Clean restrooms, including toilets, urinals, basins, and drinking fountains.
• Conduct specialized cleaning in showrooms, collection areas, office spaces, and warehouses.
• Maintain cleanliness of racking and stacking areas within the warehouse.

Requirements and Skills

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification (highly preferred).
• Previous experience in a similar cleaning role, preferably within a related industry.
• Proficient in using industrial cleaning equipment.
• Basic health and safety or first aid training is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high cleaning standards.
• Physically fit with high energy levels.
• Professional appearance and sober habits.
• Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Friendly, helpful, and able to interact professionally with staff and visitors.
• Ability to work overtime when required.
• Self-motivated team player with a proactive attitude.
