Role Overview
We are looking for four (4) skilled General Miners to join our team at the Mototolo Complex. In this role, you will be legally accountable for construction blasting as per the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA). You’ll assist with key mining tasks, including transporting personnel, materials, and ore, as well as general construction within the mine.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct safety inspections to maintain a secure working environment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and mining regulations.
- Communicate and implement up-to-date operating procedures.
- Manage explosives and prepare blasting sites in line with safety standards.
- Monitor mining activities to ensure compliance and process efficiency.
- Maintain ongoing communication with Shift Supervisors and team members.
- Prepare and submit accurate shift reports and material requisitions.
- Ensure that job instructions and safety checklists are readily available and understood by the team.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Valid Blasting Certificate for underground hard rock or National Certificate NQF Level 3 in Rock Breaking
- 1–3 years’ experience as a Miner or Crew Captain
- Trackless mining experience (advantageous)
- Medical Fitness Certificate (required)
