Introduction

The Facilities Management Team at Midstream is seeking a General Worker to assist with various maintenance and support tasks across the estate. This role is suited for a hands-on individual who is reliable, proactive, and willing to learn.

Minimum Requirements

• Valid driver’s license (advantageous)
• Experience in facilities and maintenance work (advantageous)
• Basic knowledge of facility management and building maintenance
• Understanding of health and safety practices

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will support the Facilities Team with tasks including (but not limited to):

• Assisting with ad-hoc projects as directed by management
• Installing, modifying, and repairing contractors’ fences on building sites
• Grass cutting, weed removal, and tree felling on designated properties
• Painting and repairing vacant commercial units
• Performing general maintenance (locks, paving, glass, handles, etc.)
• Basic plumbing (leak repairs, geyser valves, toilets, drains, etc.)
• Maintaining perimeter walls and electric fencing
• Conducting proactive fire prevention and veld fire control
• Refueling generators in preparation for loadshedding
• Maintaining street pole frames
• Removing illegal advertising boards within the estate
• Transporting employees, materials, and advertising assets as needed
• Ensuring all health and safety protocols are applied
