Purpose of the Position

To ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of the external areas of the building. The role includes routine cleaning, minor preventative maintenance, basic repairs, and assisting service teams as required. Major maintenance issues must be reported promptly.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cleaning and Maintenance Duties

• Clean roof gutters and clear roof blockages.
• Inspect waterproofing.
• Clean air-conditioning filters.
• Sweep and maintain common areas, including:
  • Paved areas
  • Basements
  • Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors
• Attend to general maintenance issues.
• Perform painting tasks as needed.

2. Communication & Coordination

• Assist company staff and service providers when required.
• Keep management updated on activities, issues, and maintenance needs.
• Attend meetings and complete all required documentation and checklists.

3. Client & Public Relations

• Maintain professional and courteous interactions with clients and the public.

4. Additional Duties

• Perform special cleaning tasks as assigned.
• Assist with maintaining facility security.

• Facilities and equipment remain clean, presentable, and well maintained.
• Tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and according to set procedures.
• Maintenance issues are promptly identified, resolved, or escalated.
• Work is well coordinated with company operations.

• Waste is removed according to schedule.
• Light globes are replaced as per agreed schedule.

Qualifications

• No formal education required.
• Matric is an added advantage.

Knowledge Requirements

• Basic cleaning methods and maintenance procedures.
• Understanding of safety protocols and OSHA standards.

Experience

• Prior cleaning or janitorial experience is beneficial.

Skills & Abilities

• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
• Ability to operate basic cleaning equipment such as vacuums, brooms, and mops.
