About the Role

Bridgestone is seeking a General Worker – Warehouse Operations to join our team in Mbabane. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient handling, inspection, storage, and movement of tyres within the warehouse environment.

As a General Worker, you will be responsible for performing a variety of physically demanding tasks that support warehouse operations and ensure products are handled safely, accurately, and efficiently. The role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to follow instructions while working collaboratively with others.


Key Performance Areas

1. Tyre Handling and Movement

  • Load and unload tyres from delivery vehicles, storage racks, and designated warehouse areas.
  • Transport tyres safely using appropriate equipment such as trolleys, forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual handling methods where required.
  • Stack, arrange, and store tyres according to warehouse layout and company standards.

2. Tyre Inspection and Quality Checks

  • Inspect tyres for defects, damage, or irregularities during receipt, handling, or dispatch.
  • Measure tyre tread depth and check pressure levels to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Identify and report any damaged or non-conforming tyres to supervisors promptly.

3. Warehouse Operations and Inventory Control

  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe warehouse environment at all times.
  • Assist with labelling, tagging, and recording tyre inventory in line with company procedures.
  • Support stock counts, audits, and general inventory management activities when required.

4. Safety, Health, and Compliance

  • Adhere strictly to all occupational health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly and consistently.
  • Operate forklifts, tyre-handling equipment, and other machinery in compliance with safety protocols (where certified).
  • Actively contribute to a culture of safety by identifying and reporting hazards.

5. General Maintenance and Housekeeping

  • Clean work areas, storage zones, and equipment to ensure a safe and productive environment.
  • Ensure tools and machinery are stored correctly and kept in good working condition.
  • Dispose of waste materials responsibly in accordance with environmental and company guidelines.

6. Teamwork and Communication

  • Work closely with supervisors and team members to meet daily operational, quality, and productivity targets.
  • Follow work instructions accurately and efficiently.
  • Communicate operational challenges, safety concerns, or equipment issues to supervisors without delay.

Qualifications and Experience Required

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification (mandatory).
  • Forklift or machinery operation certification will be an added advantage.

Experience and Knowledge

  • Basic knowledge of tyre types, sizes, and handling methods is beneficial.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding warehouse environment.
  • Willingness to perform manual labour and repetitive tasks.

Language Skills

  • Proficiency in English (spoken and basic written).
  • Ability to communicate in any local spoken language will be an advantage.
