🎯 Job Purpose
To support the RNC Construction Teams during maintenance and construction work on Overhead Traction Equipment (OHTE).
Successful candidates will assist with general labour duties to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and on time.
📋 Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Minimum Grade 9 or 6 months relevant experience
- Be physically fit and able to pass a medical examination
- Be safety conscious and alert
- Ability to communicate in English
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
- Willingness to work extended hours on short notice
- Willingness to relocate or work outside the designated depot
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights
- Ability to work in noisy environments
🛠 Key Responsibilities
- Perform tasks assigned by the Supervisor or Team Leader
- Maintain punctuality and professional conduct
- Load, offload, and handle materials
- Clean work sites by:
- Removing weeds
- Stacking materials
- Sweeping floors
- Removing rubble and waste
- Use non-mechanised hand tools in construction work
- Clean and care for tools
- Carry and erect 12m extension ladders
