Role Overview:
Wits Enterprise invites applications for a highly organised and detail-focused Grant Administrator to support the delivery and financial management of a Danish-funded project titled Digital Democracy Initiative – Project 1: Enabling and Amplifying Action for Civic Space and Inclusive Democracy. The role is central to ensuring adherence to EU grant regulations, effective coordination with project partners, and accurate maintenance of all financial and administrative records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily administrative and financial activities related to the project.
- Ensure full compliance with EU funding regulations, grant agreements, and reporting standards.
- Track and monitor project expenditure and forecasts against the approved budget, identifying and reporting risks or variances.
- Coordinate procurement processes, supplier onboarding, and payment administration.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate project documentation, including contracts and supporting records.
- Gather, verify, and consolidate financial and compliance documentation from project partners.
- Assist in compiling and submitting interim and final financial reports.
- Liaise with project partners, including CIVICUS, OpenUp, and CTIN.
- Support project meetings, audits, and reporting processes, including preparation of required documentation.
- Provide administrative support to the Project Coordinator and broader project team.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related discipline.
- At least 2–3 years’ experience in grant or financial administration, preferably within EU-funded projects.
- Demonstrated competence in financial and budget management.
Key Competencies:
- Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel; experience with financial management systems is advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
