Job Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing, servicing, and maintaining earthmoving equipment, heavy-duty trucks, and other diesel-powered machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Repair, overhaul, and maintain earthmoving equipment and heavy-duty trucks
- Perform diagnostics, servicing, and maintenance
- Replace parts and components and maintain detailed repair records
- Use spares and equipment cost-effectively
- Test and operate serviced equipment to ensure proper functioning
- Carry out other reasonable duties when required
Requirements
- National Craft Certificate – Heavy Plant Mechanics
- Valid Class B Driver’s Licence
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Heavy Plant Diesel Mechanic in a road construction environment
- Good communication and leadership skills
- Strong planning, organisation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
