Important Application Instructions:

  • Online Applications: All attachments must be submitted as one (1) PDF document, containing a completed Z83 application form and CV only, saved using your surname and initials.
  • Format Restrictions: Applications in JPEG (photos/screenshots) or incorrect formats will not be accepted.
  • Z83 Form Requirements:
    • Applications must be submitted using the new Z83 form, obtainable from any Public Service Department or at www.gov.za/documents.
    • Old Z83 forms will not be considered.
    • Each advertised post must have its own completed Z83 form, initialled and signed.
    • Incomplete, unsigned, or incorrectly completed Z83 forms will lead to disqualification.
    • Sections A–D of the Z83 must be completed in full. For Sections E–G, applicants may indicate “refer to CV” or “see attached”, except for Part F (reappointment conditions), which must be answered.
  • Supporting Documents:
    • Only a comprehensive CV and signed new Z83 form are required at application stage.
    • Applicants for Independent Correctional Centre Visitor (ICCV) posts must also attach a recommendation/nomination from a community organisation, dated within the last six (6) months.
    • Certified copies of qualifications and related documents will only be requested from shortlisted candidates, before or on the day of the interview.
    • Non-RSA citizens or permanent residents with foreign qualifications must provide a SAQA evaluation report (only when shortlisted).

  • Assessment & Checks:
    • Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a pre-entry practical assessment to evaluate technical and generic suitability.
    • Suitable candidates will undergo personnel suitability checks (criminal record, citizenship, credit, qualifications, and employment verification).
  • General Conditions:
    • Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
    • Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. If you have not received feedback within 3 months after the closing date, consider your application unsuccessful.
    • The successful candidate will be required to sign an employment contract and a performance agreement.
