Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 / Senior Certificate.
- Computer literacy and accuracy.
- A recommendation/nomination from a community organisation (issued within the last 6 months) must be attached.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Public service orientation with sound knowledge of Batho Pele principles.
- Assertive, able to work under pressure.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- A valid driver’s licence will be an added advantage.
- Preference will be given to applicants living near the relevant correctional centre.
Key Duties:
- Visit the assigned correctional facility daily and engage with inmates and DCS officials regarding complaints and related matters.
- Monitor incarceration conditions and compile detailed reports on findings.
- Report on incidents including deaths, segregation, use of mechanical restraints, and use of force.
- Assist JICS officials during inspections and investigations.
- Handle administrative duties such as recording and capturing inmate complaints, processing mandatory matters, and writing reports.
