Position: Student Internship – Group Finance Department

Overview:
The City of Johannesburg is offering internship opportunities within the Group Finance Department. This program is designed to provide work-based training for students as part of their academic qualifications or for those who have completed their studies and require experiential training. These positions are available for a maximum duration of 18 months and are open to students residing in Johannesburg who have not previously participated in an internship program.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Assistant Director of Media, Public Relations, and Channel Marketing.
- Manage and implement media, public relations, and channel marketing campaigns across various media channels.
- Create and maintain a positive brand image for Group Finance and the City’s services.
- Respond to media inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.
- Collaborate with colleagues to distribute appropriate media and marketing content.
- Review and monitor the effectiveness of media activities against established goals.
- Research emerging technologies and trends to enhance media strategies.
- Manage the performance of staff in the media and public relations sub-unit.
Requirements:
- Degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Media Studies, or a related field.
- Valid Code 8 Driver’s License.
- Residency within the City of Johannesburg is required.
Compensation:
- For graduates (Qualification completed with a minimum of 360 credits): R9,531.54 per month (Basic salary, no benefits).
- For enrolled students: R3,500.00 per month (Basic salary, no benefits).

This role involves managing the implementation of the Group Finance’s Communications and Marketing Strategy and overseeing the creation of original graphic designs and comprehensive layout concepts.
