Sasol is seeking dedicated and courageous individuals to join its Emergency Management team in Secunda as Junior Fire Fighters โ Operations.
This role offers growth from Fire Fighter in Training up to Leading Fire Fighter, depending on qualifications and experience.

๐ฏ Purpose of the Role
To protect Sasolโs people, assets, and legal partnerships from the impact of SHERQ-related emergency incidents by responding effectively and upholding the highest safety standards.
๐จ Key Responsibilities
- Apply SHE best practices in all emergency management activities
- Respond effectively to emergency incidents
- Perform firefighting and rescue duties as instructed
- Facilitate and present emergency training to employees and service providers
- Deliver both classroom and practical field-based training
- Ensure compliance with SAESI, LG SETA, and QCTO standards
- Conduct emergency preparedness planning
- Identify improvements in training effectiveness and service delivery
- Work collaboratively with all stakeholders
- Ensure personal performance against KPAs and PDP goals
๐ Minimum Requirements
Education:
- Grade 12 with Mathematical Literacy (or higher)
- Medically fit according to Fire Fighter fitness standards
Certifications (Mandatory):
- Fire Fighter 1 & 2 (NFPA 1001)
- Hazmat Awareness & Operations (NFPA 1072/472)
Strong Advantages:
- Fire & Emergency Service Instructor 1 (NFPA 1041)
- HPCSA Registered & Current BAA (BLS) or First Aid Level 3
- HPCSA Registered & Current ILS
๐งฏ Experience Required
- 2 โ 5 years relevant firefighting or emergency response experience
Placement into rank (Fire Fighter in Training to Leading Fire Fighter) will depend on experience and qualifications as per Sasol Emergency Management career path.
