🎯 Purpose of the Role
To safely operate mining production machines within a specific mine/section to achieve production targets while maintaining strict safety and operational standards.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-operation safety inspections and complete checklists
- Operate one mining production machine safely and efficiently
- Identify and report abnormal conditions
- Execute daily production tasks as per schedule
- Ensure working areas and machinery remain clean and compliant
- Adhere to SOPs, COPs, and Mine Health & Safety Act regulations
- Maintain roof and sidewall control standards
- Apply knowledge of ventilation systems, water reticulation & infrastructure
- Participate in emergency preparedness and hazard control
- Contribute to cost-saving initiatives
- Work effectively as part of a production team
📚 Minimum Requirements
Education & Certification:
- National Senior Certificate / N3 (or equivalent)
- Valid mining operating license
- Competent B Certificate (for Roof Bolters)
- Gas Testing Certificate (5 gases)
- Medically fit with clear security clearance
Experience:
- Minimum 1+ year underground coal mining experience
