About the Role
Reporting directly to the Manager: Service, the successful candidate will be enrolled in a structured Apprenticeship Training Programme for up to three years. During this period, you will receive on-the-job training under the guidance of experienced Technicians while attending prescribed technical courses to support your development.
This role combines practical workshop exposure with formal training, giving you the opportunity to develop essential mechanical skills in a real dealership environment.
Key Responsibilities
As an Apprentice Level One, your duties will include (but are not limited to):
Workshop & Technical Support
- Assisting qualified Technicians with vehicle repairs and servicing
- Removing and replacing vehicle parts and units under supervision
- Jacking up vehicles and securing them safely on trestles
- Removing and refitting wheels
- Removing, fitting, and replacing air and oil filters
- Lubricating components and changing oils according to manufacturer specifications (under supervision)
- Removing and fitting vehicle batteries
General Workshop Duties
- Assisting with all types of vehicle repair work as required
- Cleaning vehicle parts and maintaining general housekeeping standards
- Ensuring tools and equipment are kept clean, safe, and in good working order
- Maintaining a clean work area and ensuring overalls are kept neat and tidy
Training & Compliance
- Attending all prescribed technical and apprenticeship training courses
- Following all safety rules, procedures, and workshop regulations
- Performing any other reasonable duties assigned by management from time to time
Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications
To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must meet the following requirements:
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) with Pure Mathematics and Physical Science
- A genuine interest in motor vehicles and mechanical repairs
- Willingness to commit to a structured apprenticeship programme
- Clear criminal record
