🎯 Purpose of the Role
To safely and accurately assemble non-electric delay initiation systems using manual assembly machines, ensuring products meet strict quality and safety specifications.
🛠 Key Responsibilities
- Crimping and blocking of explosives
- Coiling of shock tubes
- Sealing, tagging, and packaging of explosives
- Assembling products according to specifications on the lot traveller
- Operating multiple assembly machines (crimping, coiling, sealing, tagging)
- Performing quality inspections to ensure customer and safety standards are met
- Conducting raw material stock counts within the production area
- Bundling, counting, and packing finished products as per specifications
- Taking precise measurements using tools such as Vernier callipers and recording results
- Adjusting machine settings to match product specifications
- Reporting daily production output and equipment breakdowns
- Manually updating production performance charts
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and safety compliance
- Working full shifts, including overtime when required
🧠 Experience & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12
- At least 6 months’ experience in explosives manufacturing
Advantageous
- Experience in Final Assembly (S4)
- Mathematics and Science subjects

- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Excellent communication skills (English proficiency required)
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production targets
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills

- Competence in equipment utilisation and process safety
