Job Overview:
Solenis is seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Packaging Operator to join its team in Wadeville. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing chemical deliveries, operating equipment safely, maintaining clean and compliant work areas, and supporting production processes to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Chemical Handling & Deliveries
- Receive and handle chemical deliveries from Diversey.
- Operate a forklift (only if properly trained and certified).
- Complete and submit delivery paperwork to technicians.
- Transfer chemicals from bulk storage to day tanks when necessary, ensuring proper use of barricades and signage.
Safety, Storage & Maintenance
- Maintain chemical containment and storage areas in a clean and spill-free condition.
- Monitor dosing lines and pumps for leaks, damages, or faults, and report issues immediately.
- Inspect production lines daily for operational issues, downtime, nozzle spray patterns, and leaks.
- Remove and clean blocked nozzles as needed.
Stock Management & Reporting
- Conduct daily stock counts for all chemicals.
- Accurately complete the following reports:
- EBI Reports
- Stock Allocation Reports
- Daily Line Schedules (submit to Planners)
Quality & Testing
- Check salt tank levels and top up when required.
- Measure and record water hardness results.
- Be present on the line during start-up and maintenance activities.
- Perform COF/Drag Tests and 100-bottle counts.
- Conduct Methylene Blue Testing in collaboration with AB InBev for verification.
Cleaning & Housekeeping
- Clean CIP tanks when they are empty.
- Ensure all work areas are maintained in a safe, clean, and organized manner.
Requirements:
- Relevant experience in a chemical or packaging environment (advantageous).
- Forklift license (if required to operate one).
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
