Salary Packages (Per Annum)
- Grade 1: R321,372
- Grade 2: R379,308
- Grade 3: R570,267
- Grade 4: R570,267
Minimum Educational Qualifications
- Grade 1: Completion of the Critical Care Assistant (CCA) programme.
- Grade 2: CCA programme or a National Diploma in Emergency Medical Care.
- Grade 3: CCA or National Diploma or BTech Degree in Emergency Medical Care.
- Grade 4: CCA or National Diploma or BTech Degree in Emergency Medical Care.
Professional Registration
- Grade 1: HPCSA registration as Paramedic (CCA).
- Grade 2: HPCSA registration as Paramedic (CCA or NDip).
- Grade 3: HPCSA registration as Paramedic (CCA, NDip, or ECP).
- Grade 4: HPCSA registration as Paramedic (CCA, NDip, or ECP).
Experience Requirements
- Grade 1: None required post-registration as Paramedic (CCA).
- Grade 2:
- CCA: 7 years post-registration
- NDip: None required
- Grade 3:
- CCA: 14 years post-registration
- NDip: 7 years post-registration
- ECP: None required
- Grade 4:
- CCA: 24 years post-registration
- NDip: 17 years post-registration
- ECP: 10 years post-registration
Inherent Requirements
- Valid Code C1 Driver’s License
- Valid Professional Driver’s Permit (PrDP)
- Physical and Mental Fitness
Core Competencies
- Deliver effective emergency care from roadside to hospital.
- Utilize communication tools as provided for clinical coordination.
- Maintain accurate administrative records (manual and digital).
- Perform maintenance checks on emergency vehicles and equipment.
- Provide support to supervisors and participate in wellness programs.
- Communicate professionally with patients, colleagues, and the public.
