Minimum Requirements

• Basic literacy and numeracy (reading, writing, and simple mathematics).
• Relevant experience as a porter in a hospital or healthcare environment.
• Willingness to work shifts, overtime, weekends, and public holidays.

Skills & Competencies

• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Team player, but also able to work independently.
• Physically able to lift and transfer patients between beds, trolleys, and wheelchairs.
• Ability to interact professionally with patients, staff, and the public.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients between wards and treatment areas using beds, wheelchairs, or trolleys.
• Assist with loading and unloading patients into ambulances or vehicles.
• Deliver patient files, reports, and other documents between wards and departments.
• Monitor, report, and replace gas cylinders in wards/treatment areas.
• Assist with moving medical equipment as required.
• Clean, maintain, and perform minor repairs on trolleys and wheelchairs.
• Handle and transport corpses in a respectful and professional manner.
