Location: Montagu Hospital – Cape Winelands Health District
Salary: R138 486 per annum
Requirements:
- Minimum qualification: Basic literacy and numeracy skills
- Experience: Relevant experience in a public health facility
- Inherent requirements:
- Willingness to work shifts, overtime, weekends, and report for duty at 06:45
- Willingness to handle corpses
- Ability to lift and handle heavy objects
- Skills: Good communication abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Escort walking patients and transport seated or non-mobile patients via wheelchair or trolley between wards and treatment areas
- Assist with loading and unloading patients from ambulances or vehicles
- Help transfer patients between beds and trolleys
- Clean the mortuary and transport bodies from wards to the mortuary, recording details in the register
- Guide visitors to various locations and respond to ward/clinic requests
- Deliver medical documents and patient files to wards, treatment areas, and admin offices

Location: Prince Albert Hospital – Central Karoo District
Salary: R138 486 per annum
Requirements:
- Minimum qualification: Basic literacy and numeracy skills
- Experience: Relevant experience in preparing patient meals in a hospital setting
- Inherent requirements:
- Physically strong, able to lift heavy items and stand for long periods
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, overtime, and public holidays
- Skills:
- Good communication abilities
- Self-discipline, motivation, and sober habits
- Willingness to develop skills and undergo training
- Ability to read, write, and follow recipes
- Proficiency in using an electronic kitchen scale
- Knowledge of basic cleaning and equipment maintenance in a food service environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve normal and special diet meals, including pre-preparation, cooking, plating, and distribution
- Receive and store groceries and perishable items
- Maintain a hygienic environment in line with health and safety and infection control standards
- Assist in maintaining kitchen appliances and equipment
- Help with informal in-service training for new unit staff
