📝 Minimum Requirements:
- Basic numeracy and literacy (ABET – able to read and write)
- Appropriate experience as a porter in a hospital setting
🛠 Key Duties:
- Transport patients safely on trolleys and wheelchairs
- Assist in lifting and transferring patients between beds, trolleys, and wheelchairs
- Handle corpses respectfully and assist in their removal to the mortuary
- Transport blood specimens and check/replace medical gas cylinders
- Assist with moving medical equipment
- Clean and maintain trolleys, wheelchairs, and mortuary fridges
- Apply infection prevention and control measures
- Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment
📌 Inherent Job Requirements:
- Physically fit and able to perform heavy lifting
- Willing to work shifts, including nights, weekends, public holidays, and overtime
- Comfortable handling deceased bodies
- Good health and stamina
🧠 Competencies & Skills:
- Strong knowledge of porter functions in a hospital environment
- Basic understanding of infection control practices
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
