About the Role:
Tharisa Minerals is on the lookout for a skilled RDT Operator (100-150 Tonnes) to join our mining operations team. In this role, you’ll ensure the safe and efficient transportation of ore and waste across our mining site, maintaining operational excellence and adhering to strict safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Health & Safety First:
- Conduct daily risk assessments and safety inspections of your vehicle and work area.
- Complete pre-start safety checklists and escalate any issues immediately.
- Take ownership of personal and operational safety to promote a zero-harm environment.
Machine Operations:
- Perform routine checks and preventive maintenance on the RDT.
- Safely load, transport, and tip ore and waste without cross-contamination.
- Monitor load weights and tipping practices to maintain equipment integrity.
- Ensure daily housekeeping of the RDT, including end-of-shift inspections.
Reporting and Planning:
- Maintain detailed logs of all movements and loads handled during each shift.
- Communicate operational progress and any delays with supervisors.
- Support daily and weekly operational goals, adapting to dynamic needs.
What You’ll Need:
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 / Matric (NQF Level 4)
- Code 10 Driver’s License
- Valid RDT Operator Certification (for 100–150 Tonnes)
- Medical and Dover Test clearance
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and holidays
Experience:
- 0–1 year of hands-on experience in mining or heavy industry
- Practical experience operating 100-150 tonne RDTs or similar machinery
