Receiving Clerk / Assistant Stores Controller


Department: Stores & Logistics
Reports To: Stores Supervisor


Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Receive all items delivered daily from various suppliers.
  • Complete quality control (QC) forms for each invoice (excluding suppliers of bolts and fasteners).
  • Check and capture items delivered via import containers.
  • Handle the receiving, checking, quality control, and transfer of fasteners, bolts, nuts, drives, pulleys, and motors to relevant departments.
  • Accurately record invoices received by the QC department in the Receiving File.
  • Log all finance-related invoices into the Receiving Book for traceability.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in the receiving area daily.
  • Label new motors with WI numbers and ensure correct transfer to painting, QC, and stores.
  • Learn stock GRN (Goods Received Note) processes and participate in stock counts.
  • Operate a forklift as required (valid license and experience required).
  • Provide backup support to the Supervisor when needed.
  • Assist with manual handling and lifting of heavy parts when necessary.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Matric Certificate)
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in receiving or stores environment
  • Forklift operation skills (valid license advantageous)
  • Computer literate (MS Office, data capturing systems)
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy parts
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • High level of self-awareness, accountability, and teamwork

Note: This role involves both administrative and physical tasks. It is ideal for someone who is organized, proactive, and willing to grow into supervisory responsibilities.
