About the Role
SBV is looking for a vigilant and tech-savvy RMC Operator to support and enhance our Remote Monitoring Centre operations. This role is critical in ensuring fleet tracking, remote system management, and threat response coordination across our national operations.
Key Responsibilities
Fleet & ATM Monitoring
- Monitor SBV fleet routes and vehicle tracking systems.
- Remotely activate Vehicle Protection Units when needed.
- Control system permissions linked to ATM Custodian profiles.
- Respond to non-compliance, delays, and emergencies swiftly.
Risk Management & Early Warning
- Monitor and gather Early Warning Intelligence (EWI).
- Identify threats, SOP breaches, or alarm events for escalation.
- Coordinate with internal teams and national law enforcement as needed.
System & Alarm Control
- Track incidents, test and maintain security systems.
- Troubleshoot or escalate system errors and network issues.
- Provide remote access codes after verifying identity and protocols.
- Maintain optimal operation of CCTV and alarm systems.
Stakeholder Communication
- Collaborate with internal teams: Control Room, Risk, Operations.
- Maintain active communication with SAPS, SABRIC, and emergency services.
- Share new site reports and system updates with Device Administrator.
System Administration & Reporting
- Manage user access and functionalities.
- Download footage for investigations.
- Support the introduction and testing of new technologies.
Governance & Compliance
- Align with ISO 9001:2015 quality standards.
- Support ESG reporting and implementation.
- Act as a Change Champion during process transitions.
Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 2 years in security system operations or access control (e.g. CCTV).
- Experience in Cash-in-Transit or logistics environment is advantageous.
Education & Training
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- PSIRA Registered
- Relevant security systems training
- Ongoing training to stay current with evolving technologies
Technical Knowledge
- Familiarity with SBV security infrastructure
- Comfortable with remote system access and alarms management
