Requirements

  • A qualification at NQF Level 4, recognised by SAQA.
  • Knowledge of relevant Acts and regulations, operation of road machinery, health and safety measures, and road environment procedures.
  • Skills in decision-making, creativity, communication, planning, and organising.
  • Attributes: flexibility, cooperation, and teamwork.

Key Duties

  • Construct culverts and side drains.
  • Erect and maintain steel guardrails and gabions.
  • Perform road earthworks and layer works.
  • Clean and maintain roads, sidewalks, and resting areas.
  • Conduct surfacing and pothole patching.
  • Road fencing and pipe laying.
  • Set road markings and install road studs.
  • Install road signs, distance markers, and barricades.
  • Crush road material, clear bushes, and cut grass.

Important Notes
