Job Purpose

The Salesman Driver plays a key role in driving bakery sales growth and ensuring excellent service delivery. This position is responsible for the on-time and in-full delivery of bakery products, effective customer service, collection of payments, and the daily management of bakery sales assets. The role operates in a fast-paced environment where reliability, accuracy, and strong customer relationships are essential.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver bakery products to customers according to agreed routes and schedules.
  • Ensure all deliveries are accurate, on time, and meet customer requirements.
  • Collect payments and ensure correct handling and reconciliation of cash and documentation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to support sales growth.
  • Promote bakery products and identify opportunities to increase sales within assigned routes.
  • Manage and safeguard bakery sales assets, including vehicles and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and road safety regulations.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, vehicle cleanliness, and product quality at all times.
  • Accurately complete delivery notes, sales records, and required reports.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12 qualification
  • Valid Driver’s License Code 10 (C1) with a Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
  • PDP must be 3 years old or more

Experience Requirements

  • 1–3 years’ experience in a sales, retail, or customer-facing environment

Working Conditions

  • Pressurised and fast-paced work environment
  • 6-day work week
  • Required to work Saturdays, Sundays, and Public Holidays as per operational needs
