Job Purpose:
To provide expert advice and guidance in executing audits, independently planning and conducting highly complex audits across multiple tax types and periods, ensuring compliance with all legislative requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree/Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) AND 8-10 years’ experience in Transfer Pricing, with 3-4 years at an Operational Specialist level.
- OR Senior Certificate (NQF 4) AND 15 years’ experience in Transfer Pricing.
- Functional Requirements:
- 8-10 years’ experience in a similar environment, with 3-4 years at an operational specialist level or 15 years of related experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Optimize the utilization of resources and advise on planning within your area of specialization.
- Develop and implement practices in alignment with operational frameworks.
- Conduct high-standard audits, ensuring policies, standards, and legislation are correctly applied.
- Provide technical guidance and training to team members.
- Identify legislative loopholes and recommend changes.
- Assist in debt collection by providing necessary information.

2. Lead Specialist: Pillar II Globe Tax Base
Position Reports to: Business Area Lead: Tax Avoidance & Reportable Arrangements (LBI)

About the Position:
Join SARS in shaping the future of tax compliance. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the Pillar II Globe tax base, as per the OECD guidelines, ensuring voluntary compliance through strategic measures.
Job Purpose:
To examine legislative and economic environments to identify future tax avoidance schemes, and implement measures to counter these, specifically within corporate reorganizations outside reportable arrangements.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum Qualification & Experience:
- Honours/Postgraduate Diploma (NQF8) AND 10-12 years’ experience in Tax Audit or Tax Legal environment, with 3-4 years at specialist manager level.
- OR Bachelor’s Degree/Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) AND 12-15 years’ experience, with 3-4 years at specialist manager level.
- Functional Requirements:
- 10-12 years’ experience in Tax Audit or Tax Legal environment, with significant experience in international tax advisory related to corporate reorganizations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Detect tax avoidance schemes and identify legislative loopholes.
- Manage the OECD Pillar II, Globe Minimum Tax Rules, and policy implementation.
- Liaise with National Treasury on policy updates and Globe Minimum Tax Bill.
- Act as the single point of contact for Globe Pillar II matters, representing SARS internationally.
