We’re seeking a seasoned Senior Security Officer to lead frontline safety operations in the heart of Durban. You’ll oversee protective services for Council buildings, assets, personnel, and the public—ensuring peace of mind and operational integrity across the board.

What You’ll Be Trusted With:
- Shielding Council facilities and staff through proactive presence and response.
- Commanding security teams with confidence and professional mentorship.
- Managing high-stakes documentation and operational reports.
- Collaborating with internal teams and law enforcement on mission-critical security matters.
- Supervising firearm training safety at designated ranges.
- Performing emergency response duties, including deputy assignments.
- Ensuring shift discipline, access control, and risk mitigation protocols are always followed.
- Conducting special escort operations as needed.

🎓 The Blueprint for Success
Must-Haves:
- NQF Level 6 Diploma in Security, Law Enforcement, Police, or Military Studies
- PSIRA Grade A Certification
- Firearm Competency: Handgun / Rifle & Shotgun
- First Aid Level 2 Certification
- Peace Officer Certificate (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
- Valid driver’s license
- Minimum 4 years of experience (2 in a supervisory role)
Preferred Edge:
- NQF Level 7 Degree in related fields
- 5 years of experience, including 3 years at a supervisory level
