Requirements

  • Competency in the core security functions of the post.
  • Fluency in at least two official languages, one being English.
  • South African citizenship.
  • No previous criminal or departmental convictions or pending cases.
  • Will undergo security vetting and fingerprint screening.
  • Grade 10 / NQF Level 3 qualification (with proof).
  • PSIRA registration with at least a Grade C security certificate (or higher).
  • Must not be declared unfit to possess a firearm and must be willing to complete and maintain firearm competency training.
  • A security-related Degree/Diploma or relevant training courses will serve as an advantage.
  • A valid driver’s licence (light motor vehicle) is an added advantage.
  • Willingness to work shifts and extended hours.

Key Duties

  • Enforce Access Control in line with the Control of Access to Public Premises and Vehicles Act (Act 53 of 1985).
  • Positively identify and register employees, visitors, and contractors at access points.
  • Conduct electronic searches and authorize entry into premises in line with prescribed requirements.
  • Issue and retrieve visitor access cards; maintain visitor registers.
  • Inspect suppliers, goods, and items entering the premises to ensure safety.
  • Patrol buildings, fenced areas, and safeguard vehicles/equipment from a security perspective.
  • Check security equipment and report any issues to senior personnel.
