Role Purpose

The Shop Assistant/Cashier (P27) is responsible for delivering an outstanding in-store customer experience. This includes effective stock replenishment, attractive merchandising, maintaining high housekeeping standards, and accurately processing transactions at the till.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

• Provide friendly and professional service to ensure a positive shopping experience
• Assist customers in locating products
• Handle customer queries and complaints effectively

Cashiering

• Process cash and card transactions accurately
• Manage lay-by transactions and customer refunds
• Balance tills and report discrepancies to the supervisor

Merchandising & Housekeeping

• Ensure products are correctly priced, displayed, and readily available on the sales floor
• Maintain store cleanliness and housekeeping standards
• Stay informed about current promotions and offers

Risk Control

• Ensure merchandise is security tagged in line with company policies
• Participate in stock takes
• Remain alert to theft or fraudulent activity and report concerns to management
