Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work
  • Professional registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP)
  • Shortlisted candidates must provide proof of current registration
  • Valid driver’s license

Knowledge Required:

  • Public Service Act and Regulations
  • Batho Pele Principles
  • Human behaviour and social systems
  • Ability to empower individuals, families, groups, and communities
  • Competence in providing social services to vulnerable and at-risk groups
  • Ability to mentor Social Auxiliary Workers
  • Understanding of the Performance Management and Development System

Skills:

Communication, interpersonal relations, computer literacy, research, problem-solving, report writing, time management, presentation, facilitation, counselling, numeracy, language proficiency, and driving skills.

  • Deliver social services focusing on care, support, protection, and development of vulnerable individuals, families, groups, and communities
  • Implement relevant social work programmes
  • Support Social Auxiliary Workers and student social workers
  • Stay updated on new developments in social work and welfare
