Transnet Port Terminals (TPT) is inviting motivated and enthusiastic individuals to apply for the Sector Specific Trainee Programme, a structured 12-month training programme designed to develop a strong pipeline of talent for critical operational roles within TPT.

🎯 Position Purpose

The programme aims to equip trainees with practical, on-the-job experience aligned to their academic background, career goals, and business needs. Successful candidates will be placed in specific operational areas within TPT and gain exposure to real port terminal operations.

Preference will be given to candidates residing within the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality.

🛠 Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily operational tasks as per allocated equipment
• Handle commodities according to operational requirements
• Complete logbooks and report equipment defects
• Operate data terminals where applicable
• Maintain work-related radio communication
• Monitor equipment performance and identify defects
• Report incidents, accidents, and daily operational occurrences
• Operate safety equipment (e.g. fire extinguishers) when required
• Comply with terminal safety rules, policies, and procedures
• Sign on and operate within the Terminal Operating System (NAVIS)
• Follow on-screen instructions and confirm task completion

🎓 Qualifications & Experience

• Grade 12 / Matric (Required)
• TVET N6 in Logistics / Transport (Advantageous)
• Valid Code EB Driver’s Licence (Required)
