Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a Store Driver for their Panorama branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods to customers efficiently, safely, and professionally.
Minimum Requirements
Essential:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Valid driver’s licence
- Willingness to work retail hours and shifts
Advantageous:
- Previous experience in a similar driving or delivery role
Key Responsibilities
- Transport products to customers safely, courteously, and within set timeframes.
- Learn and assist with dispatch-related tasks.
- Ensure accurate and timely delivery of the correct products.
- Prioritise fridge-line deliveries using cooler boxes and cold packs.
- Use the shortest, most efficient route for each delivery and return promptly for additional trips.
- Repack the vehicle after each delivery to prevent damage to goods or the vehicle.
- Take accountability for any damages or losses during delivery.
- Handle fragile and hazardous items with extra care.
- Meet company standards for accuracy and efficiency.
- Follow delivery and pickup instructions provided by the manager.
- Ensure collections, store returns, and inter-branch transfers are correctly checked and signed off.
- Obtain signatures for all delivery documents.
- Confirm correct customer names and addresses before delivery.
- Ensure all invoices are recorded and stored correctly on the delivery log sheet.
- Report any discrepancies immediately.
- Follow the company’s vehicle policy at all times.
- Maintain an up-to-date vehicle logbook.
- Process payments via EFT and cash when required.
- Never leave the delivery vehicle unattended.
- Keep the vehicle clean and presentable.
- Inspect the vehicle before, during, and after trips and report defects to management.
- Report all accidents or incidents involving the vehicle or equipment.
- Comply with all National Road Traffic Act regulations.
- Take responsibility for traffic fines incurred while driving.
- Build effective relationships with internal and external customers.
- Maintain professional conduct when interacting with customers.
- Report customer feedback, complaints, or compliments to management.
