SUPPLY CHAIN CLERK: VARIOUS COMPONENTS (REF NO: 3/3/1/11/2025)

Location: Pretoria, Head Office

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 certificate (no experience required).
  • Basic understanding of supply chain procedures, data capturing, computer operation and statistics.
  • Basic knowledge of the Public Service legislative framework.
  • Familiarity with work procedures relevant to the operational environment.
  • Skills: planning and organising, computer literacy, language proficiency, strong verbal and written communication.

Duties:

  • Provide clerical support for asset management.
  • Maintain and update asset records and databases.
  • Issue furniture, equipment and accessories to staff or components.
  • Identify obsolete or non-serviceable equipment for disposal.
  • Verify the asset register.
  • Provide support in demand and acquisition management.
  • Maintain and update the supplier/contractor database.
  • Register suppliers on LOGIS or similar systems.
  • Request and receive quotations.
  • Capture specifications on the electronic procurement system.
  • Place orders and handle bid documents.
  • Provide administrative or logistical support during bid evaluation and contract finalisation.
  • Draft required documents.
  • Perform general logistical support duties, including receiving, verifying and recording goods, issuing goods, and maintaining supplier and goods registers.

  • Identify equipment that is redundant or obsolete.
  • Provide clerical support for demand and acquisition management.
  • Maintain and update supplier databases.
  • Register suppliers on LOGIS or similar systems.
  • Request and process quotations.
  • Capture specifications on procurement systems.
  • Handle orders, bid documents, and provide logistical support during bid and contract processes.
  • Prepare draft documents as needed.
  • Provide logistical support including receiving, verifying and issuing goods, and maintaining registers.
