POST 31/61: Telecom Operator (Ref No: 2025/217/OCJ)
Salary: R193 359 – R227 766 per annum (Level 04). The successful candidate will be required to sign a performance agreement.
Centre: Mpumalanga Division of the High Court – Mbombela

Requirements:

• Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Basic Computer Certificate will be an advantage.
• No prior experience required.
• A valid driver’s licence will be an added advantage.

Skills and Competencies:

• Knowledge of clerical duties, office practices, and data capturing.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Knowledge of office administration and statistics collection.
• Understanding of Public Service legislation and Batho Pele Principles.
• Familiarity with alarm systems related to switchboard operations.
• Good communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• Note: Shortlisted candidates will undergo a pre-entry practical exercise and a driving test.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain the switchboard system.
• Manage the telephone database and internal telephone directory.
• Provide messaging services and ensure effective handling of calls.
• Forward calls to the relevant business units and handle urgent calls.
• Identify, report, and follow up on telephone faults with technical service providers.
• Update and maintain accurate contact lists for staff, departments, and services.
• Administer telephone accounts.
• Ensure efficient internal and external communication.
• Provide accurate and professional client service.
