Purpose of the Role

To ensure smooth and safe movement of cargo within the terminal using a forklift or tractor-trailer, supporting uninterrupted operational flow.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform pre-operation checks and ensure machinery is ready for use.
• Complete daily checklists, record equipment faults, and report issues to the supervisor.
• Operate forklift/tractor safely according to SOPs, monitoring performance.
• Report any incidents or accidents immediately.
• Use correct attachments for various cargo types and switch equipment as required.
• Complete shutdown tasks at end of shift.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

Option 1:

• Grade 12 / NQF Level 4
• Valid Driver’s Licence
• Forklift and/or Tractor Certificate of Competence
• At least 1 year of relevant driving experience

OR

Option 2:

• Grade 10 / NQF Level 2
• Valid Driver’s Licence
• Forklift and/or Tractor Certificate of Competence
• At least 3 years of relevant experience
• Basic literacy (reading & writing) and numeracy skills
