Are you a skilled truck driver with a passion for hands-on work and making a difference in your community? The City of Tshwane is looking for a Truck Driver to operate specialised equipment and help maintain parks, road reserves, and public spaces. This is more than just a driving job — it’s about creating cleaner, safer, and greener spaces for all.


🔍 Position Details

  • Job Level: T6
  • Annual Salary: R216 648 – R300 900
  • Total Remuneration Package: R307 586 – R414 924
  • Target Group: Open to all categories

🎯 Purpose of the Role

To maintain and improve municipal green spaces using specialised equipment such as stump grinders and wood chippers. The role contributes directly to the quality of life in Region 6 by keeping city spaces safe and environmentally sound.


Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 10 (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience as a truck driver
  • Valid Code EC1 driver’s licence
  • Valid PrDP (Professional Driving Permit)
  • Physically fit and in good health
  • Willing and able to work shifts
  • Must pass a criminal background check (includes fingerprinting by TMPD at own cost)

🧰 Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain vehicles and equipment such as mechanical stump grinders and chippers
  • Prepare work sites for environmental upgrades and new developments
  • Adhere strictly to Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993)
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed when working with machinery and on-site
