Role Purpose
To safely and efficiently operate an ultra-heavy motor vehicle with a Gross Combination Mass (GCM) exceeding 25 000 kg, in line with DP World’s standard operating procedures, safety standards, and performance objectives. The role contributes directly to operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and overall business performance.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate ultra-heavy vehicles in accordance with approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety regulations.
- Deliver assigned work activities to agreed service standards to meet and exceed customer expectations.
- Execute transportation tasks in compliance with governance, legal, and regulatory requirements.
- Plan, organise, and manage daily to medium-term tasks (up to 3 months) to ensure performance targets are consistently achieved.
- Carry out duties efficiently and effectively to support cost control and financial performance.
- Participate in training and learning initiatives to continuously improve skills, safety awareness, and work quality.
- Provide accurate and timely feedback on task execution to support operational decision-making.
- Demonstrate accountability by owning tasks from start to completion.
- Uphold, promote, and live the DP World values in all work activities.
Qualifications Required
- Diploma (NQF Level 6)
Skills & Experience Required
- Up to 3 years’ experience in a similar operational or logistics environment.
- Minimum 1 year managerial or specialist experience within heavy transport, logistics, or related operations.
- Strong understanding of safety, compliance, and operational governance.
- Ability to work independently while meeting strict deadlines and performance standards.
- Good planning, organisational, and communication skills.
- Results-driven with a strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
