⚡ About the Role
Reporting to the Electrical Foreman, you will support Supervisors and Artisans in maintaining electrical equipment to ensure efficient plant performance and uninterrupted service delivery to customers.
✅ Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / N3 Certificate
- 2 years’ experience as an Artisan Assistant in an electrical workshop environment
- Code B driver’s license
- Ability to pass Rand Water’s K53 Test
🛠 Key Responsibilities
- Assist artisans with maintenance of electrical equipment
- Perform minor electrical installations
- Manage and control electrical stores
- Trace and locate faulty cables (visual inspection and testing equipment)
- Install new cables, dig trenches, strap cables and cable racks
- Build scaffolding
- Replace faulty plugs and top up batteries/liquid starters with distilled water
- Wash, clean, and paint electrical motors
- Repair damaged equipment (geysers, stoves, heaters, cookers)
- Collect spare parts and equipment from suppliers
- Work according to Rand Water’s job card system
- Ensure planned deadlines are met
