About the Role
We’re looking for a dedicated Driver to join our team. This role involves safely operating company vehicles to transport people or goods between designated locations, while maintaining control of the vehicle and adhering to all safety standards.

Business Unit: Kumba Iron Ore
We produce premium-grade iron ore, a critical material in global construction and manufacturing. Our operations span exploration, mining, processing, shipping, and marketing. In South Africa, we operate in the Northern Cape, with our corporate office in Centurion and a port in Saldanha Bay, Western Cape.
Key Responsibilities
Safety, Health & Environment
- Comply with all SHE policies and procedures.
- Report unsafe conditions or practices to your supervisor.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in work areas to meet safety standards.
Operations
- Safely assist in loading, transporting, and unloading equipment or materials.
- Select appropriate tools and lifting equipment for each task, ensuring compliance with procedures and safety standards.
- Perform daily inspections on vehicles, equipment, and machinery before use.
- Report equipment faults or safety concerns to the supervisor promptly.
- Monitor equipment performance during operation and escalate any deviations.
- Support your team and assist in completing tasks aligned with your level of expertise.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Matric / Grade 12
- Valid South African Driver’s Licence
- Technical understanding of vehicle/equipment components
- Previous operational or maintenance experience (advantageous)
Skills
- Effective communication
- Time management and organisation
- Problem-solving ability
- Proficiency in English and applicable local languages
