REQUIREMENTS:
A Grade 12 Certificate (NQF Level 4) or equivalent qualification. No previous experience required. Training in asset management, codification, or procurement will be beneficial.
Skills and Competencies:
Proficiency in English (written and verbal). Good telephone etiquette, typing, communication, and organisational skills. Proficient in MS Office applications. Strong analytical, numerical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. High level of reliability, initiative, and familiarity with DOD policies, SOPs, and directives.
DUTIES:
The successful candidates will provide clerical and administrative support in managing, controlling, and safeguarding logistical documentation in accordance with security, confidentiality, and audit standards. Responsibilities include allocating document identification numbers, managing revision levels, maintaining computer file references, and capturing data into the logistics database to ensure accurate records.
Other key functions include administering document release and retrieval processes, ensuring secure disposal of outdated classified documentation, assisting with audits, and managing the control and tracking of classified hard copies and media.
The incumbents will ensure proper filing systems, maintain document movement registers, and support the implementation of effective document control processes. They will also contribute to operational efficiency by ensuring the availability, accuracy, and integrity of all logistical documentation.
