Learnership Programme 2025/26: Basic Traffic Officers Diploma

Requirements:

  • Minimum educational qualification: Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Must possess at least a Code B driving licence.
  • Must be a South African citizen with no criminal record.
  • Must be fit and proper – shortlisted candidates will undergo a medical assessment to confirm physical fitness for strenuous activities.
  • Candidates will be required to complete driving and competency tests as part of the selection process.

The Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison in Mpumalanga invites applications for the Basic Traffic Officers Diploma Learnership Programme. This initiative aims to equip the youth of Mpumalanga with essential knowledge and skills in Traffic Law Enforcement. Important Information:

  • The training will take place at the Mpumalanga Traffic Training College, located in Mkhuhlu (Calcutta) within the Bushbuckridge Local Municipality.
  • The Department will conduct personnel suitability checks for shortlisted candidates, including:
    • Qualification verification
    • Criminal record checks
    • Citizenship confirmation
    • Financial record checks
    • Driver’s licence verification
  • Successful applicants will be required to sign a 12-month contract with the Department. Upon completion, learners will receive a Diploma in Basic Traffic Officer (NQF Level 4).
  • The Department is committed to promoting representativity in terms of race, gender, and disability.
