Job Overview
The Packaging Technician is a specialist role responsible for supporting and promoting the company’s sales and operational goals within the national region (SAF). The position focuses on ensuring efficiency, compliance, and quality in packaging and bottle-washing operations, while strictly adhering to company policies, industry standards, and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Quality Management Systems
- Maintain consistent bottle and crate cleaning standards, ensuring low rewash rates.
- Uphold high levels of hygiene and process control in all operational activities.
2. Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
- Perform accurate daily titrations using correct reagents.
- Ensure laboratory equipment is calibrated according to schedule.
- Avoid using expired reagents and maintain all glassware and equipment in good condition.
- Order reagents and consumables promptly to prevent shortages.
3. Quality Control
- Conduct 50-crate counts, drag tests, and monitor chemical residuals within set specifications.
- Verify conveyor cleanliness and oversee all CIP (Clean-in-Place) operations.
- Perform random OPC product tests and immediately report any non-compliant results to the Account Manager.
- Maintain accurate, traceable records stored in a centralized system.
4. Reporting
- Submit daily Bottle Washer and Crate Washer reports.
- Record treatment data and monitor caustic consumption.
- Conduct and document chemical analyses, including:
- Caustic, aluminate, carbonate, and additive concentrations
- Lube concentrations
- EBI readings and deviations
- Track and report on water and lube usage.
- Monitor operator attendance and prepare the following:
- Weekly Diversey and chemical usage reports
- Weekly stock and stock control reports for the customer
- Timely feedback and investigations for reported downtime
5. General Duties
- Perform all duties as assigned by the Company to support business operations.
- Comply with company directives, policies, and safety procedures.
- Participate in all required training and development initiatives.
- Verify completion of operator task lists and actions assigned by the Account Manager.
- Monitor chemical stock levels and ensure availability of necessary spares on-site.
- Attend daily operational meetings and record data for BW (Bottle Washer) and TT (Treatment) reports.
- Gather operator feedback and compile Action Logs for submission to the Account Manager.
- Supervise the receipt and management of chemical deliveries and ensure all related reports are submitted before the end of each shift.
