🔍 About the Apprenticeship

Kickstart your career as a qualified artisan through this structured apprenticeship programme. You’ll gain both hands-on experience and theoretical training aligned with merSETA standards, leading to a recognized trade qualification (NQF Level 4).

This opportunity is specifically aimed at local candidates near Kriel Power Station, supporting community development in Mpumalanga.


🛠️ What You’ll Gain

  • Full apprenticeship training (practical + theoretical)
  • Workplace experience in boilermaking or welding
  • Preparation for and completion of a trade test
  • Qualification as a certified artisan

📌 Key Responsibilities

  • Complete all required merSETA training modules
  • Perform tasks assigned by your Mentor/Training Officer
  • Assist with production and site work
  • Work toward passing your trade test

✅ Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics (not Maths Literacy) and Physical Science OR N2
  • N2 Engineering subjects (advantageous)
  • Must be physically and medically fit
  • Clear criminal record
  • Age 35 years or younger
  • Must live within 50 km of Kriel Power Station
  • Willing to relocate to Bethal if needed (no transport/accommodation provided)

  • N2 certificate + academic results (if applicable)
