SALARY: R228 321 – R268 950 per annum (Level 05)
CENTRE: SA Naval Armament Depot, Simon’s Town, Cape Town

REQUIREMENTS:
A Grade 12 Certificate (NQF Level 4) or equivalent qualification. No prior experience required.
Skills and Competencies:
Proficiency in English (both written and verbal). Good telephone etiquette, typing, and communication skills. Competence in MS Office applications. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, high reliability, and initiative. Knowledge of registry procedures, data capturing, document storage and retrieval processes, as well as familiarity with DOD policies, SOPs, and directives. Understanding of information management system processes is essential.

DUTIES:
The successful candidate will provide effective registry and administrative support services to ensure smooth information management within the unit. Responsibilities include managing registry counter services, controlling the flow of incoming and outgoing correspondence, and ensuring the accurate distribution and dispatch of mail and files.
Key duties involve maintaining archives, implementing structured filing systems in accordance with records management and archival policies, and handling the classification, archiving, and disposal of documents. The incumbent will also perform general administrative duties such as drafting letters, invitations, and routine correspondence, updating directives and circulars, and operating office machines to support daily operations.
Additional responsibilities include monitoring compliance with records management standards, ensuring the security and accessibility of documents, assisting during audits and inspections, and performing ad hoc administrative tasks to support efficient registry and office operations. The role requires strong organisational ability, attention to detail, and the capacity to handle multiple administrative and registry-related tasks effectively.
